STONE SOUR Guitarist Says New Album Is More Thought Out

June 8, 2006

Launch Radio Networks reports: STONE SOUR has made an instant impact on rock radio with "Through Glass", the first single from its sophomore album, "Come What(ever) May". It's been four years since the first STONE SOUR disc arrived in 2002, and guitarist Jim Root (also of SLIPKNOT) told Launch that the group put a lot more consideration into every aspect of the project this time. "We're trying to take everything to a new level and in a different direction from the first record, 'cause the first record, basically we just did it so fast and we threw it out there so quickly that we didn't really have time to think much of anything out," he said. "And now we just want to be able to kind of, you know, have a little bit more control over everything and think things through a little bit more."

STONE SOUR premiered the video for another new tune, called "30/30-150", on MTV2's "Headbanger's Ball" last Saturday (June 3). The group also recently shot a clip for "Through Glass" with director Tony Petrossian (HEAD AUTOMATICA, AVENGED SEVENFOLD).

"Come What(ever) May" is due out on August 1 and follows up the Iowa-based band's self-titled, gold-certified 2002 debut, which featured the hit "Bother".

STONE SOUR will join KORN, DEFTONES and FLYLEAF on this summer's Family Values tour, beginning in late July and extending into September.
